Who am I
I am an Endowed Professor of Counseling at East Texas A&M University, teaching family and couple counseling, supervision, crisis intervention, and research, and supervising doctoral dissertations. I am also an experienced administrator and executive in higher education settings.


My mentoring style and philosophy
My mentoring is academic and formation-focused, centred on scholarly identity and leadership. A pre-session meeting is available to clarify goals. I expect self-direction and academic engagement.

Best fit for mentees
Primary areas of focus include doctoral supervision, research development, counselor education leadership, and academic career preparation. I am best suited for doctoral students and early-career faculty pursuing excellence in scholarship and supervision.

I expect mentees to be self-directed and academically engaged.
